Michael Murray is a student-centered leader who believes that strong relationships and high expectations help students do amazing things.
Before becoming principal of UCEC, Mr. Murray taught at Parkwood & Cuthbertson Middle School, where he also coached the boys’ basketball team. He later served as assistant principal at Cuthbertson Middle, East Union Middle School and Marvin Ridge High School. Mr. Murray’s focus is on raising student achievement and strengthening school culture. Under his leadership, UCEC has earned an “A” on the North Carolina School Report Card and exceeded expected growth the past two years, reflecting his commitment to academics and a supportive learning environment.
Mr. Murray is married and the proud father of one daughter. An avid New York Giants football fan, he also enjoys spending time on the golf course whenever he can.
